Selecting products by substrate is for guidance only. The aim is to filter the number of products
helping to make product selection easier and more applicable. Product suggestions should be
thoroughly tested and the onus is on the customer to ensure the solution is suitable for all
substrates required to be bonded. In some cases additional priming or surface preparation may be
required.

Our range of Structural adhesives cover a multitude of assembly operations. They are avialable in cartridge or as bulk systems. Benefits over mechanical fastening methods include:
- No damage to substrates in assembly ( ie no holes need to be drilled or heat distortion if welding metal.
- Dissimilar materials can be joined without galvanic corrosion
- Fatigue resistance is increased as stresses are not concentrated in few localised areas
- No finishing steps are required offering improved aesthetics
Structural adhesives have the highest load bearing capabilities out of all other adhesive options and offer excellent chemical and environmental resistance. They are also available in a range of handling and cure times and do not require access to the air to dry, nor moisture and thus have an unlimited depth of cure
We categorise our structural adhesive range into Chemistry Types
Acrylics overall provide the highest bonding strength to plastics (including very hard to bond to materials such as polypropylene) and may also provide good bonds to metals including oily metals and powder coated surfaces The new generation of toughened acrylics also offer improved impact / vibration resistance.(Thus improved fatigue resistance),faster cure times and low odour.
Epoxies are available in a wide range of properties and can have the best overall properties on metals. Flexible epoxies have high peel strengths and also offer better impact resistance and are a good choice for parts which may flex in end use.
Toughened Epoxies provide the highest shear, peel ,impact, vibration and fatigue resistance and are therefore suitable for the most demanding applications
Polyurethanes tend to be the most flexible of all structural adhesives but have lower strength in general, but can be a cost effective solution for bonding plastics and rubber.
